# Is Your Side Business Just a Hobby?

When I was a kid, I collected a lot of baseball cards, and I traded them in card shops. For me, it was just a hobby. For the card shops, man, they were making some money.
A lot of taxpayers tell their clients that their side business is a hobby, but they’re wrong, because a business is anything where you have the intent to make a profit.
